Terms and Privacy

These terms of use govern the usage of Hijack and the relationship between the user and Hijacknet Ltd including its staff, agents, and contractors (“the company”, “we” or “us”).

  1. By using the Hijack App or Plug-In (“Hijack”) on any platform you are taken to have acknowledged that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms of this agreement. If you do not agree to this agreement, you should not use Hijack.

  2. Without advance notice and at any time, we may suspend or terminate your access to Hijack, as a result of your use of Hijack to break the law, violate an individual's privacy, or infringe any person or entity’s intellectual property or any other proprietary rights, unauthorised use for spam or commercial activity, or for any other reason in our absolute discretion.

  3. We do not monitor, moderate or curate any content except where our defamation or copyright procedures are invoked. These policies are compliant with English Law. As the company is domiciled in England we are not governed by the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

  4. For the reasons set out in paragraph 3 Hijack is not responsible for any actions, transactions, meetings or other steps you take as a result of any use of Hijack.

  5. Your account must always include a user name, and a verifiable email address where we can contact you where our defamation or copyright procedures are invoked.

  6. You are fully and solely responsible for all content posted by and usage of your Hijack account, including links to third-party sites, and you agree to hold harmless the company in respect of any direct or indirect causes of action against it and for all losses howsoever arising.

  7. All unique Hijack-generated content is protected by worldwide intellectual property law, and any unauthorised use will be made the subject of civil and/or criminal proceedings in jurisdictions worldwide.

  8. You agree that you have the right to submit anything you post, and that your user content does not violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret or any other personal or proprietary right of any other party.

  9. You agree not to harm the operation of Hijack in any way. Hijack is intended to achieve a re-democratising of the net, so please adhere to that core value.

  10. This contract is severable to the extent necessary to give it efficacy.

  11. This contract sets out the entirety of the legal relationship between the company and its users, and is variable at the sole discretion of the company.

  12. The edition current at the time of the act in question shall be the applicable edition.

  13. This contract is governed by and is justiciable under English Law.
